Northwestern College Men’s Chorus
Conducted by Timothy Sawyer since 1997, the Varsity Men's Chorus is comprised of around 40 mostly first-year male students at Northwestern, an enthusiastic and elegant "singing fraternity" of college men whose repertoire ranges from doo-wop and barbershop to sacred classics for men's voices. In addition to music, personal and spiritual formation, silly fun and energetic camaraderie are also a special feature of the life of this group. Concert activities of the Northwestern College Men’s Chorus include multiple performances on campus, a joint spring concert with the NWC Women’s Chorale, local off-campus concerts, an annual service project at St. Paul’s Lake Phalen and a short regional concert tour each spring. The 2011 Spring tour brings them to a series of concerts and choral exchanges along the Mississippi River and to the Red Wing Correctional Facility in a joint concert with their inmate choir.
